Leadership 2022-2023

Hi, I am Tuyen Mai, a senior undergraduate student in Biomedical Engineering. I got to know Biomedical Imaging quite late during my undergrads, but immediately got hooked. Through BIG, I hope more engineering students get to know more about the field, especially with the vast application of imaging. I am currently doing undergraduate research on photoacoustic skull aberration correction in OPIRA. I hope students can find interest in the field, and maybe get some undergraduate research experience upon learning about imaging labs at UIC too.

Hi! My name is Alexandra. I am a senior Biomedical Engineering student with a concentration area in Biomedical Imaging. I got into the imaging field once I started working in the lab focusing on research in this area. Biomedical Imaging Group, in my opinion, is a great way to promote the field and introduce students to all the opportunities biomedical imaging can give them!

Hello! My name is Spencer and I am a third-year student studying Biomedical Engineering. After my experiences with the Guaranteed Paid Internship Program (GPIP) and then Biomedical Imaging Group (BIG), I decided to pursue a concentration in Biomedical Imaging. Through BIG, I hope to contribute to providing academic and networking opportunities so other students can also know their interests and develop their careers.
