  • Study Session for “Light + Sound: Imaging & Therapy” (October 2, 2023 at 5pm via Zoom)
    • The BME department is hosting a presentation by Dr. Xueding Wang titled “Light + Sound: Imaging & Therapy.” The presentation will be held in SEO 236 on Friday October 6, 2023 at 12pm. To help with being prepared for the event on Friday, Biomedical Imaging Group is hosting a study session where a presentation will be given on photoacoustic tomography, followed by a small journal club. We ask that you familiarize yourself with one of Dr. Xueding Wang’s recent publications and/or a publication on photoacoustic imaging to prepare for the session.
  • Study Session for “NMR Metabolomics from Tissues to Live Cells and Imaging” (October 9, 2023 at 5pm via Zoom)
    • The BME department is hosting a presentation by Dr. Leo Cheng titled “NMR Metabolomics from Tissues to Live Cells and Imaging.” The presentation will be held in SEO 236 on Friday October 13, 2023 at 12pm. To help with being prepared for the event on Friday, Biomedical Imaging Group is hosting a study session where a presentation will be given on nuclear magnetic resonance, followed by a small journal club. We ask that you familiarize yourself with one of Dr. Leo Cheng’s recent publications and/or a publication on nuclear magnetic resonance metabolomics or imaging to prepare for the session.

    • We are excited to host a presentation by Julia May, an MD candidate who has been a lab member in the Optical & Photoacoustic Imaging Research and Analysis Laboratory here at UIC. She will be giving a presentation on optical coherence tomography (OCT) in dermatology and its relevance to her medical school research.

    • We are excited to host a presentation by Fiona Gruzmark, an MD candidate who has been a lab member in the Optical & Photoacoustic Imaging Research and Analysis Laboratory here at UIC. She will be giving a presentation on optical coherence tomography (OCT) in dermatology, adding to last week’s presentation.

    • The BME department is hosting a presentation by Dr. Jorge Riera Diaz titled “Resolving the mesoscopic missing link: Biophysical modeling of EEG and fMRI from cortical columns.” The presentation will be held in SEO 236 on Friday November 17, 2023 at 12pm. To help with being prepared for the event on Friday, Biomedical Imaging Group is hosting a study session where a presentation will be given, followed by a small journal club. We ask that you familiarize yourself with one of Dr. Jorge Riera Diaz’s recent publications and/or a publication on electroencephalography or functional magnetic resonance imaging in preparation.
